Serbia becomes CERN member state

Serbia’s Government said on Friday the country became the 23rd state with full membership to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the Beta news agency reported.

The CERN Council unanimously voted to let Serbia into the club, while the official confirmation was expected after Belgrade and UNESCO ratified the decision. CERN is a European research organisation operating the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. Established in 1954, the organisation is headquartered in Geneva.
