Société Générale S.A. says it's selling its bank in Serbia to OTP Group

Société Générale S.A. ( SocGen), headquartered in Paris as the third largest French bank by total assets, and sixth largest in Europe, signed an agreement on its plan to sell the bank in Serbia to the OTP group, pending the country’s National Bank (NBS) and Anti-Monopoly Commission approvals, the Beta news agency reported on Thursday.

SocGen Leasing and Insurance are part of the sale package, while the group will remain in Serbia with its ALD Automotive. The final transaction is expected in several months. “The Bank is positioned as the fourth by total assets and deposits and third in loan placement in the local market.
