Train cuts bus in half in Serbia, child among five dead, no ramp at crossing

Five people, including a child, died in a crash in which a train ran into a bus and cut it in half at a railway crossing without a ramp near Serbia’s southern city of Nis, N1 reported.

Another 33 injured were taken to the Nis Clinical Centre, four of whom were already undergoing surgeries. Three passengers died on the spot, while passed away during on the operation table. The Railway Company said the train hit the bus at the railway crossing marked with vertical signals on the exit from a station. The train partly slipped from the tracks, the company statement said.
