Serbia allows gender changes and nationality data into Registers

The adjustments in the Law on Registers enabled a voluntary data registration of nationalities and the entry of gender changes in birth certificates as of the beginning of 2019, Serbia's Ministry of State Administration and Local Governance said on Thursday.
The latest improvement from June 2018 includes the e-version of the Registers, and the integrated citizens’ database, as well as the exchange of data among different institutions. The Registers will be linked to the voters’ lists to make them up to date, the lack of which has been one of the significant opposition complaints concerning the fair ballot.
