Tanks, MIGs, choppers, 4,000 soldiers and policemen honour Victory Day in Serbia

Serbia’s southern city of Nis witnesses on Friday the military and police parade “Defence of Freedom” on the occasion of the Victory Day in WW II with the participation of over 4,000 soldiers and police officers, 300 different types of combat and non-combat vehicles and about 40 aircraft and helicopters, the Beta news agency reported.

The parade included an airborne landing, infantry and motorised echelons shows and nine MIGs 29 flyover. “I like to see the army in the street, but it’s too expensive, too complicated… it turns out to be a part of the constant election campaign in Serbia,” Aleksandar Radic, a military analyst, told N1 morning programme.
