Authorities in the United States (US) are requesting the extradition of Mevlid Jašarević from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), who carried out a terrorist attack on the US Embassy in Sarajevo in October 2011.
As reported by Radio Free Europe (RFE), US authorities are seeking Jašarević’s extradition due to an indictment for the attempted murder of American officials during this attack. The extradition request was sent the day before the expiration of his 15-year prison sentence, to which he was sentenced by the Court of BiH precisely for the terrorist attack on the US Embassy in BiH. A hearing to determine extradition detention will be held as early as tomorrow morning.
