Serbian actress says politicians didn’t want her at protest

Serbian actress and pro-democracy advocate Mirjana Karanovic told Belgrade daily Danas that she did not speak at the weekend protest against violence because some of the parties present did not want her there.
She said she walked away from the protest when she spotted political party officials there, denying reports that she did not speak because the organizers told her that some groups would not take part if she did. Karanovic was announced as one of the speakers at the protest in central Belgrade.
