Romania supports Serbia’s EU path, FM Melescanu tells Dacic

Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu voiced support for Serbia’s path to the European Union, adding that the region will be a priority for Bucharest when it takes of the EU presidency.
“I assure you that the Western Balkans will be among our highest priorities during the EU presidency,” he told reporters after a meeting with his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic in Belgrade on Wednesday. According to Melescanu, the fact that he is in Belgrade a day before Romania takes over the EU presidency reflects the importance that Bucharest places on relations with Belgrade and the country’s integration into Europe.
