The Grand Egyptian Museum — A Monumental Project Opening After Two Decades

After 20 years of construction and more than a decade of planning, Egypt is finally set to open the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, a project worth around one billion dollars.
The grand opening, to be held in the shadow of the pyramids, will be attended by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, along with numerous world leaders and guests from across the globe. This monumental complex, covering 470,000 square meters, is considered the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization. It houses more than 50,000 artifacts, including the colossal statue of Ramses II weighing 83 tons, and the 4,500-year-old solar boat
