EU’s Mogherini will discuss the region with Western Balkans leaders next week

The European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini will hold an informal meeting with the leaders from the Western Balkans to discuss the situation in the region, what was done in 2018 and what are the plans for the next year, her office has said in a statement on Friday as carried by the Beta news agency.
The EU Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn will also take part in the meeting on December 19. “The EU perspective based on merits and results was confirmed for all Western Balkans countries in 2018,” the statement said. The European Commission adopted the Strategy for the Western Balkans in February, while in May, at the EU - Western Balkans Summit in Sofia, Bulgaria, all six leaders from the region and the EU member states’
