Serbian police fail to provide information to prosecutors

Serbian prosecutors told Radio Free Europe on Wednesday that they are still waiting for the police to provide information on the people who tore down houses in the Savamala neighbourhood three years ago.

The latest request to the police was sent by the First Basic Public Prosecution in Belgrade in January, Deputy Prosecutor Aleksandar Djenadic said. “We have sent requests to the police four times to date and have received nothing,” she said, adding that the perpetrators can’t be prosecuted without information from the police.
