German Railways Bans Alcohol Consumption at Stations

German Railways (Deutsche Bahn) announced today that it will ban the consumption of alcohol at all its stations in order to improve safety and cleanliness for employees and passengers, with exceptions such as bars and restaurants.

The company stated that the ban will be gradually implemented at all 5,400 stations in Germany, to be completed by October 15. Bans have already been introduced at 30 stations, including those in Cologne, Hamburg, and Munich. On September 1, two stations in Berlin, as well as several others, will join them before the measure is expanded nationwide.
