Authorities in Nepal have warned of the possibility of new floods today and called on residents of flooded areas to remain on high alert after water levels in the Botekoshi River rose.
Flood danger warnings were sent to citizens’ mobile phones throughout the morning, while rescue teams worked to clear the main road connecting Kathmandu with one of the areas hardest hit by the catastrophic floods on Wednesday. The total number of casualties in Nepal and Tibet has risen to 750, while more than 3,000 people are listed as missing, according to the latest data released today.
