Several EU countries to release 43 million barrels of oil from reserves in the coming months

Several European Union countries are bringing about 42.6 million barrels of oil to the market, half of which is diesel, from their strategic reserves, European Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen said today.
This is in line with the commitment they undertook within the G7 framework to curb prices at gas stations. “ EU member states have once again confirmed their commitment to rapidly make available 42.6 million barrels from strategic reserves over the coming months, and about half of that amount will consist of diesel,” Jorgensen said after the meeting of EU energy ministers in Luxembourg, according to French Figaro.
