Former Hague Tribunal Prosecutor: People want reconciliation, politics prevent

The chief prosecutor in the case of former Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladic has told N1 morning programme on Tuesday the people across the region want to forget wars, but their politicians don’t allow that to happen.
Peter McCloskey added it was very disappointing that after so many years some things were getting even worse. “In my opinion, that’s the issue of leadership. People I have met, Bosnian Muslims and Serbs, who survived the (1992-1995) war want to forget it and continue with their lives, but the political situation doesn’t allow them to,” McCloskey said. Recalling the Mladic trial, he said it “was unbelievable” to have him in The Hague. He added
