The German progressive and technical death metal scene has spawned one of the most important bands in the genre, and we should also point out that this band has stayed true to its vision for nearly a quarter of a century.
On top of that, each of their new releases builds upon the previous one, and conceptual works in the form of trilogies are nothing new to them. By now, you’ve probably realized we’re talking about a band for whom the terms “ambition” and “consistency” are part of their very character. We’re talking, of course, about Obscura – the German band that has been building a reputation for uncompromising perfectionism ever since their debut “Retribution” (2006, Relapse).
