Serbia's Ministry: 250 tonnes of hazardous waste removed from Pancevo

The 250 tonnes of illegally stored hazardous waste in Serbia’s northern town of Pancevo has been removed and placed safely according to legal procedures, a statement from the Environment Ministry said on Thursday, as carried by the Beta news agency.

The statement said waste was discovered in March at the location of the “Eko 21” company, adding that besides the cleaning of that site, a total of 66 tonnes of the hazardous waste found at the Alibunar and Bavaniste locations were safely stored.
