An exhibition of documents, photographs and other memorabilia was opened on a walkway of Belgrade’s Kalemegdan fortress on Wednesday to mark 180 years of Serbian-Russian diplomatic relations.
The exhibition was opened by Serbia’s Minister of Culture Vladan Vukosavljevic and Russia’s Ambassador in Belgrade Alexander Chepurin. The minister told reporters after the opening that Russia provided aid to Serbia almost constantly adding that it was crucial at critical moments. “Serbs returned the favour mainly as individuals from the middle ages to the Baroque period when some of our people held ranking posts as imperial officials,” he said.
