Serbian opposition leader says regime will fall at first sign of dissent

Serbian opposition Popular Party leader Vuk Jeremic said on Friday that President Aleksandar Vucic’s regime will “fall like a house of cards at the first whistle at one of his enforced rallies” just like “Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu fell from power at a moment when he seemed absolutely impossible to topple”.
“It’s a question of time when that will happen and things will develop at lightning speed. In the end he will have to meet opposition demand and secure conditions for fair elections which we will win,” he told a meeting in the eastern Serbia town of Bajina Basta where the party set up its local branch.
