‘Operation Broom’ purge to start in North Macedonia, PM says

As soon as his ruling coalition presidential candidate won the election on Sunday, Zoran Zaev, North Macedonia’s Prime Minister, announced changes in his cabinet, state institutions, public enterprises and his party in a purge dubbed the ‘Operation Broom’, the Beta news agency reported on Monday.
Zaev opted for large-scale changes after the first round of the presidential vote on April 21 many of his SDSM party supporters abstained unhappy with his government work and the behaviour of the officials.
