“Open Balkans” also means Open labor market

President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), Marko Cadez, has said that after the meeting in Tirana between officials from Belgrade, North Macedonia and Albania, where six agreements will be signed, the three countries will get a single labour market within the Open Balkans initiative.

He told RTS TV that he expected “a single labour market, borders that are open 24 hours for crossing, harmonized certificates, especially phytosanitary, in order to avoid a problem that cost the economy a lot of money.” A strategic plan for 2022 will be agreed in Tirana during another meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and North Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, as part of the Open Balkans regional initiative.
