Hungarians report: Agreement with Serbia on construction of oil pipeline

Serbia and Hungary have agreed on the construction of an oil pipeline that would allow Serbia to be supplied with cheaper oil from the Urals, said the Hungarian authorities, as reported by Radio Free Europe.

The construction of the oil pipeline was arranged after the European Union (EU) introduced the eighth package of sanctions against Russia, restricting Russian crude oil import. Spokesman for the Hungarian government, Zoltan Kovac, wrote on Twitter that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban have agreed on the construction of an oil pipeline, which will enable Serbia to be supplied with cheaper oil from the Urals, by connecting
