Norway’s national team was welcomed like champions upon their return from the World Cup, despite finishing the tournament in the quarterfinals.
More than 100,000 fans gathered in Oslo on Monday to welcome their footballers, who were eliminated after a 2–1 extra-time defeat to England. A large crowd filled the area in front of the Royal Palace in the early afternoon, while the national team received a traditional water salute upon landing in the capital.
