NATO Intern Arrested in Belgium on Suspicion of Espionage

A Canadian woman who was interning at a NATO facility in Belgium has been arrested on charges of espionage, the Belgian prosecutor’s office announced today.
The Canadian of Chinese descent is „suspected of espionage on behalf of a third country and membership in a criminal organization,“ the prosecutor’s statement said, without disclosing the suspect’s identity, according to Reuters. The prosecutor stated that the suspect was interning at the NATO „SHAPE“ facility in Mons, in western Belgium.
