Is Russian gas returning to Europe?

Senior US and Russian officials are discussing the possibility of involving a US investor in the company that operates Nord Stream, once the main route for delivering Russian gas to Germany and Europe.
The talks involve US special envoy Jared Kushner and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s close adviser Kirill Dmitriev, according to five anonymous sources familiar with the matter who spoke to Reuters. The two have met in Moscow and New York in recent weeks, with Nord Stream on the agenda during their discussions. Kushner, who is seeking to help broker an end to the war in Ukraine, believes business arrangements could form part of a broader peace-building process.
