Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić will officiate the World Cup final, which will be played on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. in New Jersey.
Vinčić refereed Argentina’s opening match at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, when the then-reigning world champions were defeated 2–1 by Saudi Arabia. Lionel Messi scored Argentina’s only goal from a penalty awarded by Vinčić. Argentina later went on to win the World Cup title.
