Serbian railway company to put up ramp at site of bus-train crash

The Serbian Railways (Zeleznice Srbije) company said it would put ramps on the railway crossing in the village of Donje Medjurova where five people were killed when a train rammed into a bus.

Local residents of the village outside the southern city of Nis organized a protest over the lack of ramps and necessary signals at the crossing, saying that they have been appealing for a ramp for decades and threatening to continue their protests until the demand is met. Five people, including a child, died in the crash, three are in critical condition and 19 more are recovering in hospital. Railway company spokesman Nenad Stanisavljevic told
